CTA has experienced significant growth over recent years, which has accelerated throughout 2019. Dedicating time to team development activities not only helps to integrate new staff into the wider organisation, and encourage mixing between functional teams, it improves both agile and strategic thinking, and also helps ensure CTA staff build trust with one and other, supporting better communication and stronger relationships.

CTA’s 2019 team development day was Lego themed. Staff were placed into small, cross-functional teams, working together to first solve a series of puzzles and team co-ordination tasks, before competing to create a Lego masterpiece that depicted an iconic Melbourne landmark. The MCG, Eureka Tower, Melbourne trams, Brighton bathing boxes and Pentridge prison all featured in the final constructions. While the judge’s choice of a winner was questioned by many, there was no question about the fun had by all.
