I am pleased to share with you our 2025 Annual Report, released at our recent Annual General Meeting on 25 May, 2026.

In 2025, CTA supported an increasing workload that helped ensure Australia ranks #3 in the world for total number of Phase 1 clinical trials, with our Members proactively selected for the world’s best early phase studies.  CTA supported a total of 274 new trial submissions during 2025, and over 2,000 Australian patients were enrolled, a new record for CTA and our Members. Importantly, a large proportion of this recruitment took place at regional Member sites, reinforcing the network’s shared commitment to improving equitable access to clinical trials. Cancer Trials Australia remains well positioned to continue to support growing clinical trial activity across our membership, helping to secure earlier access to novel therapies for Australian cancer patients.

This year, our report incorporates visual elements drawn from ‘For Those Who Wait’, a commissioned artwork by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artist Safina Stewart. For Those Who Wait is featured in full on page 21, where Safina’s beautiful words articulate how First Nations cultural symbolism was woven through her artwork to reflect Cancer Trials Australia’s purpose and values.

In an increasingly competitive global environment, I am proud of CTA’s role in ensuring Australia remains a destination of choice for world-class clinical trials, for the benefit of Australian cancer patients and their families. The CTA team work tirelessly towards this vision. I am grateful to CTA staff and to all Member personnel for their ongoing dedication and collaboration, and to the Board for its stewardship and support, all working together to ensure the CTA Network continues to flourish.
