We are pleased to share with you our first Annual Victorian Cancer Clinical Trials Census report, showcasing trends in Victorian cancer clinical trial participation from 2022-24. This program is supported by the Victorian Government through the Department of Health.
Building upon work undertaken for many years by Cancer Council Victoria (CCV) to collect and report on Victorian cancer clinical trials participation, this report represents a significant development within our growing sector, towards the capacity for deeper analysis of annual trends in cancer clinical trials and the participants who benefit.
The report aggregates data provided by 19 Victorian research sites, highlighting a 21% increase in recruitment, and that 40% of participants recruited reside in a rural or regional location. First Time in Human trials grew by 49% and our research sites made significant inroads into recording the cultural and linguistic diversity of their trial participants.
